2. Low Energy Life Lessons
The Bloom family lives in a custom built house equipped with energy saving appliances. "Air gets sucked out here."
Its ventilation system, coupled with something called a heat exchanger, preserves and recycles all the heat in the house…even the warmth given off by bodies and machines like computers.
And finally, to keep the Blooms snug during Switzerland's cold winter
"recycled wood?"...
a furnace that burns waste wood pellets.
.."and it heats the water."..
It all adds up to big energy savings.
"How close are you?"
"We are around, umm, three thousand five hundred."
But to get even closer to their two thousand watt goal, the Blooms don't ever leave appliances on stand-by overnight.
They try to eat locally produced food, and their hybrid car spends most of its time in the driveway.
But maybe their most lasting contribution to the 2000 watt society is passing on the low energy habit to the next generation.

2.3 Translation
2.4 Sum Up
There’s this family named the Bloom living in a custom built house to save energy. This house has energy saving appliance like a ventilation system coupled with heat exchanger. The Bloom family uses less energy than most of the people around them, but they keep trying to save energy to get close to the 2000watt society. Furnace
Heat exchanger
A heat exchanger is a device built for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another.
The medium may be separated by a solid wall, so that they never mix, or they may be in direct contact.
They are widely used in space heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, power plants, chemical plants, petrochemical plants, petroleum refineries, and natural gas processing. One common example of a heat exchanger is the radiator in a car, in which the heat source, being a hot engine-cooling fluid, water, transfers heat to air flowing through the radiator.
